Informal Type is a small-scale, Istanbul-based project that predominantly produces display fonts. Unlike traditional type foundries that prioritize legibility, Informal Type diverges in the dynamics of letterform creation and the subjects they focus on. Its target audience is professional graphic designers and graphic design students. The typefaces created by Informal Type address social, cultural, artistic, and economic issues during the design process. Additionally, they incorporate literary, visual, and auditory content produced in these areas into the design process to inspire or reference their letterforms.
