Informal Type is an independent initiative within the creative design studio Informal Project. It designs and develops digital typefaces and makes them accessible to designers, creatives, students, academics, or simply anyone curious enough to try them out.

Informal Type sees typography as a tool for generating ideas and questioning form. It draws from culture, dissent, and experimental approaches — challenging the authority of the hand over the letter.
In opposition to conventional type design practices, it offers an alternative approach grounded in culture, art, and social issues. Each letter is treated not merely as form, but as a carrier of thought.
By creating conceptual, experimental, and often disobedient letterforms that defy convention, it aims to move beyond formal boundaries — and positions typography as a means of intervention in visual culture.
