InformalType sees typography as a tool for generating ideas and questioning form. It draws from culture, dissent, and experimental approaches — challenging the authority of the hand over the letter.

Each typeface emerges from an alternative approach rooted in culture, art, and social issues. InformalType treats letters not merely as form, but as carriers of thought.

InformalType is an independent initiative under the Istanbul-based design studio Informal® Project.
